Partenaires

The School has agreements with 87 academic partners (universities and schools) around the world, including:

-  55 in Europe
-  32 outside of Europe, including:

  • 7 partnerships in North America: in New York, with the School of Visual Arts and Parsons; in Chicago, with the School of the Art Institute of Chicago; in Los Angeles, with the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts);  and in Canada, with the Université du Québec à Montréal;
  • 10 in Asia: China (including Taiwan), Korea, India, and Japan;
  •  3 in Brazil.

There are additionally around 10 institutional-type partners (agencies, associations, etc.)

The School's privileged partners

Several joint workshops or projects have been carried out:

  • with the Parsons School of New York, with MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) of Boston, on the theme of "new materials";
  •  with Aalto University of Art and Design in Helsinki;
  •  in India, with the National Institute of Ahmedabad, on the theme of "light";
  • in China, with the Academy of Fine Arts of  Xi’an and the China Academy of Art of Hangzhou for comparative study of Western and Chinese writing;
  • in Brazil, with the University of Porto Alegre, on the theme of sustainable development;
  • with two Korean universities as part of "2010, Seoul World Capital of Design," on the theme of sustainable development.

The following projects are currently underway:

In 2012 - 2013, the School has been working in conjunction with the National Institute of Design of Ahmedabad on the theme "Bamboo," in association with Japanese architect Kengo Kuma.
In 2013, a gathering after workshops on the theme "Designing Poverty," in coordination with the Sandberg Institute–Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam was organized at the Grand Hornu in Ghent.
The Institut Français is also studying the possibility of including this project in seminars to be held in New York in 2014, with specialists on the subject.
For 2014, a project on the theme of "Mobility" is being created with the National University of Design in Singapore. This project has the support of the Institut Français of Singapore.
The École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs will develop these international initiatives in partnership with the "Paris Sciences et Lettres" research university (PSL), of which it is a member.
